Ruth Shriver

Ruth Margrette (Stangeland) Shriver was born on December 2, 1930 in Dawson, Minnesota, the daughter of Selmer (Sam) and Mabel (Mae) Stangeland. Ruth married Gerald (Gerry) Shriver on January 21, 1951 at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson, Minnesota. Ruth and Gerry lived in various cities in the Midwest prior to settling in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1977. Ruth worked in the retail industry as a salesperson for Lewis Drug, the Empire Mall and Ideal Hardware. For over 20 years, they traveled to area craft shows to display their creative work. Ruth was 86 years old when she passed away on November 25, 2017, seven days shy of her 87th birthday. Those left to cherish her memories include: Brian (Deb) Shriver of Fort Dodge, IA, Terri (Tom) Bartholomew of Erie, KS, Mark (Sharon) Shriver of Sioux Falls, SD. Scott (Kellie) Shriver of Holmen, WI, family of Tim (Mary) Shriver of Brandon, SD, family of Greg (Melody) Shriver of Sioux Falls, SD; a sister, Janet Pearson of Madison, MN; 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and many dear relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerry; two sons, Tim and Greg; and three sisters, Joanne, Rosamun and Lauralee
