Norma was born on March 23, 1925 near Volga, South Dakota the daughter of Herman and Agnes (Reppe) Grieme. She graduated from Volga High School. After high school, she lived with a relative in Milwaukee and worked in a factory during WWII. Near the end of WWII, Norma moved to Sioux Falls. Norma married Lyle Riley on December 1, 1951 in Sioux Falls. They raised two children together. Norma worked at Raven Industries and Lewis Drug for a few years. In the mid 1970s, she began working at McKennan Hospital in the housekeeping department. She was at McKennan Hospital for several years and then was a housekeeper in private homes until she was 70 years old. Lyle passed away in 2003. Norma liked spending time with her family and enjoyed traveling to see them. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church for many years. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jeff and Laura Riley of Sioux Falls and Kathi and Mike Schultz of Lorton, VA; four grandchildren, Ryan (Amber) Schultz, Jaimie (Jeremy) Dodd, Lisa (Josh) Thayer and Chris Riley; six grandchildren, Vivian and Milo Schultz, Colin Dodd, Alexis Pedro, Kolby Pedro and Jace Thayer; a niece and a nephew. She is preceded in death her parents; husband; a sister, Virginia; and a nephew. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church of a charity of your choice.
