William Giles

William Patrick Giles, 52 of Grand Junction, Co passed away on October 12, 2014 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. William was born in Denver, Colorado on January 16th, 1962 to Charles and Doris Giles. After his father's retirement from the Air Force in 1970 the family settled in Box Elder SD where he attended Douglas School Systems and then graduated from Western Dakota Vo-tech with an Associate Degree in Electrical Trades. William worked for Hobart Company in Anchorage, AK and Santa Rosa, CA for many years before he accepted his current Technician position for Safeway Company in Grand Junction, Co in the late 1990's. William loved photography ever since he took a class in Junior High, he would send pictures of amazing landscapes while traveling or camping. His second love was the Minnesota Vikings, he was always hoping that someday they would win the Super Bowl. Will was also a bargain shopper, always looking for the next great deal and an avid Star Trek fan. William loved life and was always planning a trip to some place new. William is survived by his mother Doris Giles of Rapid City, SD, brother Daniel (Valerie) Giles of Port Orchard, WA, sisters, Diane (Allan) Carlson of Newcastle, WY, Kimberly Giles-Smith of Box Elder, SD and Patricia Fedele of Rapid City, SD, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father , Charles H. Giles. Services will be held at Saint Isaac Jogues church in Rapid City on Friday October 17th at 10 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Dougherty Hospice House, 4509 S Prince of Peace Place, Sioux Falls, SD 57103.
