Randolph H.B. Hartmann, 95, Rapid City, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at New Underwood Good Samaritan Center. Randolph was born to Henry & Clara (Bruemmer) Hartmann on August 4, 1918 at Mercer, North Dakota. He grew up on a farm near Rowena and attended country school. Randolph served in the US Army from November of 1942 January of 1946. He married Rachel Heinle on September 27, 1942 at Mercer, North Dakota. They lived in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota for a number of years before moving to Sioux Falls. Randolph worked at Sioux Steel for twenty-five years. Randolph enjoyed woodworking and craft projects. He was a life-member of VFW Post #628 in Sioux Falls. Randolph will be lovingly remembered by his two sisters, Evelyn Carlson, Rapid City and Lucille (Quentin) Sorenson, Canton, and many nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Rachel, in 1997, infant son Bobby, his parents, a brother, Lawrence and three sisters, Leona Donovan, Ruby Hartmann and Irene Jans.
