Jerry JJ Taylor was born July 21, 1938 at Seminole, OK, the son of Wiley and Vada Taylor. He grew up at Glendive, Montana and was a graduate of Dawson County High School. JJ had a passion for airplanes and flying since he was a young boy which put him on the pathway to serving his country in the US Air Force. After his discharge from the Air Force, he partnered with his brother in a concrete business. He then worked in the oil fields for a number of years. He married Carol Fleming on November 25, 1990 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Sioux Falls. They moved to the Aberdeen area where JJ was a pilot and crop duster for four years. He then moved to Alaska and worked as a bush pilot. In 2001, JJ came to Sioux Falls and began working at the west side Walmart store. He was employed at Walmart until his health forced him retire. JJ usually had a smile on his face and was often singing a tune. He loved flying, reading, boats and spending time with his friends. Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife, Carol; children, Kristi (Dustin) Summers of Sioux Falls, Lori (Shawn) Jerke of Ethan, SD, James Klein (Jenya) of Mitchell and Brian Klein of Minnesota; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; a brother, Ron of Billings, MT; and two special friends, Stan and Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Edward and Deann.
