Fred Schumacher

Fred ?Fast Freddie? was born April 26, 1959 at Sioux Falls, SD to Leland and Janet Schumacher. He was raised in Sioux Falls where he attended Laura B. Anderson Elementary School, Whittier Middle School and Lincoln High School. He enlisted with the US Army in 1975. He served in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1979. Fred worked in Topeka, Kansas for Scan Optics for a few years and then came back to Sioux Falls where graduated from a vocation and technical training program. He then worked at Egge?s Automatic Transmission for many years and was self-employed at Schumacher Communications Fred enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycles and spending time with his loved ones. Fred passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Avera McKennan Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Fred is survived by his wife, Toma and children, Stevie, Nathan (Jeanne) Schumacher of Elkhart, KS, Jessica Schumacher of Texas, Tansy Flannery, Katie Grahm, Stevie Schumacher and Olivia Jacobson, all of Sioux Falls; siblings, Roger (Nancy) Schumacher and Todd Schumacher of Sioux Falls, Ammie Bently of Grantsburg, WI, Christie (Keno) Sauby of Baltimore, MD, Gloria (John) Esculano of Dunedin, FL and Susan (Troy) Payne of Sioux Fall; 9 grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leland Schumacher and Janet Dubblede, and a brother, Steven Schumacher.
