Darlene Peters

Darlene was born October, 9 1926 at Ellsworth, Minnesota to August and Myrtle (Essman) Fixmer. She graduated from Ellsworth High School as the class valedictorian. She moved to Sioux Falls and stayed with her aunt. Darlene married Al Peters on March 27, 1959 at Sioux Falls. Darlene worked at various businesses over the years including, Manchester Biscuit, Brown Drug and John Morrell for many years before she retired. She then took part time positions: cooking at a school cafeteria and in the caf at the YMCA and Whiffers Sandwich Shop. Darlene belonged to the VFW and enjoyed gardening and taking care of her lawn. Grateful for sharing her life are her children, Janet (Michael) Wood, Ronald (Val) Peters and Michele Peters and fianc, Darwin Allen all of Sioux Falls; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brother, Lloyd ?Butch? Fixmer, Sturgis, South Dakota, sisters, Verna Stubsten, Sioux Falls and Shirley Fixmer, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, David Fixmer, siblings, Patrick Fixmer, Marilyn Ratner and Corrine Stark.
