Annie J. Johnson, 86, died at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls on October 22, 2010. She was born at Chancellor, SD on May 10, 1924 to Herman and Tena (Burma) Johnson. She received her education in a one-room country school. She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and was baptized and became a member of Chancellor Baptist Church. She walked with God and served him faithfully. At age 18 she began working at Manchester Biscuit Company in Sioux Falls. On weekends she commuted by train to her parents farm near Hurley, SD. She and her parents later lived at Tea, SD. When Manchester?s closed, she worked as a housekeeper and cared for many children who still keep in contact with her. Later, she was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and then Hillcrest Baptist church when they moved to their new location. She worked in the nursery, served as Sunday School Treasurer and Funeral committee Chairman in her church for many years. She was an encouragement and help to many people. In later years and until her death she was a faithful volunteer in the North American Baptist Heritage Commission at Sioux Falls Seminary. She is survived by one sister, Stena Peters Jacobs of Bridgewater; three nieces, Fern Decker, Diane Jibben and Debra Franks; four nephews, Russel Peters, Ronald Peters, Douglas Jibben and Roy Peters and many friends who loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Johnson and Henry Peters and wife, Magdalena, and a sister, Hattie, and her husbands, Thomas Jibben and Norman Christiansen. Memorials will be given to Hillcrest Baptist Church.
