Carol Geske, 77 of Sioux Falls died Friday at the Dougherty Hospice House. She was born Sept. 28, 1932 at Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of Harry and Lillian (Wittrock) Barnes. She grew up on a farm near Renner and graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls. Carol married Elmer Hopper in 1951 and lived in Sioux Falls. Carol held various jobs in Sioux Falls while she raised her family. She married Linus Geske in 1961. Carol worked as a daycare provider for many years and as an aid on a school bus. She enjoyed many hobbies: cooking, traveling, fishing, reading, country music and especially meeting people and making new friends. Carol was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Relief Society at her church. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Gene) Swanson of Valley Springs, Mark Hopper (Deb Dawley) Yankton, Marlon (Mary Jo) Hopper of Durango, CO, Kimberly (Paul) Gotmer of Spring Brook, WI, Jodie Geske of Rapid City; 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband ? Linus, a brother, Harold Barnes and son-in-law, Jim Tupy. Memorials may be directed to the McCrossan Boys Ranch or a charity of choice.
