Marian Hartle

Marian was born on November 16, 1928 at Alvord, Iowa to Christ and Borghieda (Twedt) Hartle. She grew up and attended school at Canton. Marion was employed at John Morrell Company for a few years and this is where she met Don Hartle. Don and Marian were married on August 20, 1947 in Sioux Falls. They lived in Sioux Falls and raised their family. Marian worked for the Sunshine Food Store at 10th Street and Cleveland Ave, Sioux Falls, for 22 years. She then worked for Sioux Area Vocational School for 3 years and while working there she completed her GED. Marian and Don moved to farm near Humboldt in 1987. Marian worked at the local hardware store for 10 years. Marian was a member of the Humboldt American Legion Auxiliary and held several officer positions over the years. She enjoyed the charity and fundraising activities that the auxiliary was involved with. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to play Bingo. Marian often visited with her friends at coffee club and attended ?Cousins Coffee? every month. Marian was 81 years old when she passed away on July 18, 2010 at the Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her children, John ?Jack? Hartle of Humboldt, Donald Hartle II of Tea, Linda (Steve) Siemonsma of Tea, Vickie (Vince) Cady of Lennox and Dianna (Pat) Garner of Angier, NC; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Chet and a sister, Irene, and one grandson and great grandson.
