Dorothy Lenore Yesda was born Dorothy Lenore Holmes on June 12, 1923 to Leonard and Ruth (McMillen) Holmes at Madison, South Dakota. She was married to Mohammed ?Moody? Yesda on September 11, 1941 at Sioux Falls. Dorothy worked for Beatrice Foods, Kaiser Ship Yards and Woolworth Dime Store. She also was a teachers aide for nine years in the Sioux Falls School District and then worked for Insty Prints for 10 years where she worked up to be an assistant manager. She was active with her church and taught Sunday school for 23 years at United Pentecostal Church and 10 years at Full Bible Ministries Church. Dorothy enjoyed gardening for many years. Survivors include a son, Joe and his wife, Betty; three daughters, Charlotte Chambers and her friend, Lee Wintersteen, Sylvia Dorsett and her husband, Richard, Dorothy Mays and her husband, Kenneth, all of Sioux Falls; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Jean Washburn, Sioux Falls and Margaret (Jon) Cornelious, WA. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two siblings, Rodney ?Bud? Holmes and Phyllis Lizott.
