Paul Brandsgaard

Paul was born October 20, 1934 at Sioux Falls, the son of Sigford and Nellie (Rabbitt) Brandsgaard. He attended school in Sioux Falls. Paul enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1951 and began a 20 year military career. He served four years in the Marines followed by four years in the Army. Paul returned to the Marines for six additional years and spent his last six years of duty with the Air Force. Paul married Judy Jacobs on February 20, 1982 at Sioux Falls. He served as a volunteer fireman for Wayne Township for a number of years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veteran Post in Sioux Falls. He enjoyed fishing, camping, attending auctions, local auto racing, and was a Minnesota Vikings fan. He is survived by his wife, Judy; 4 children, Dawn Moffitt (Monty), Tami Schimmel, Shelly Legg, Tricia Quarve; step children, Jay Jacobs, (Wanda) and Kari Schraeder; Step children, Jay Jacobs (Wanda) and Kari Schraeder; 11 grandchildren, Josh Brandsgaard, Ryan Vandenhoek, Emily Scholten, Kirsten Scholten, Seth Quarve, Jessie Quarve, Krystal Schroeder, Chris Brandsgaard, Chase Schraeder, Jereth Fleming, Paul Cooper; 8 great grandchildren, Alexa, Hayden, Alyssa, Shelby, Kyler, Cameron, Samuel and Ashton; a brother, George, Brandsgaard. He is preceded in death by his parents three siblings, Glen, Robert and Joan Stuber.
