Eugene Rang was born July 13, 1931 at Sioux Falls, the son of Louis and Jeanette (Hoekstra) Rang. He grew up on farms near Parker and Colton. Eugene served in the Air Force during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Air Force, he came to Sioux Falls. Eugene married Shirley Spindler on October 20, 1956 at Luverne, MN. They made their home in Sioux Falls and raised four children. Eugene was as a mechanic most of his life. He worked for his brother at Pro-Tune Up and also with Willy?s Automotive, Weeg Standard and WheelCo Brake. He later drove a truck for Sioux Falls Monument Company. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and past member of the American Legion. Eugene enjoyed driving a racecar at Husets for many years, fishing, hunting and gardening. Grateful for sharing his life are his wife, Shirley, four children; Autumn Marshall of Louisville, KY, Paul Rang of Sioux Falls, Katherine (Tim) Doppenberg of Brandon, Lisa (Ron) Glawe of Sioux Falls; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; six siblings, Norm (Ardeth) Rang, Gordon Rang, Audrey (Jim) Jandl, Deloris (Vern) Kock, all of Sioux Falls, Larry (Barb) Rang and Shirley Wolfe of California.
