James ?Jim? Levitt James ?Jim? Elmer Levitt was born on October 5,1935 in Kalispell, Montana, the son of Francis D. Levitt and Stella (Knapp) Levitt. He graduated from Flathead High School in Kalispell in 1955, and soon went to serve his country in Korea. Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1960, Jim returned to live and work in Kalispell. After a brief marriage to Marilyn (Edman) Levitt of Taylors Falls, Wisconsin, Jim moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1980. He worked as a watch repairman for Lewis Drug for a few years, and then started his own business, Jim?s Watch Repair. He was an active member in the Re-Organized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for many years, and most recently a resident of Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls. Jim enjoyed singing, reading, spending time with friends, and watching his grandchildren grow. He was 73 years old when he passed away on September 27, 2009 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Grateful for having shared his life are his son, Tim (Katie) Levitt of Sioux Falls; three loving grandchildren Colton, Abbey and Eric; brothers Allan, Carl, Daryl, and Dewey, sisters Carol, Dena and Lola; and many other loving relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; Leonard, Eugene and Robert; and sister-in-laws Myrna (Robert) Levitt and Treva (Eugene) Levitt. His nephew Lon Levitt held a special place in his heart.
