Albertha Rozeboom

September 30, 1935 — October 12, 2023

Sioux Falls

Albertha was born  Sept. 30, 1935 in Perkins, Iowa. She was the youngest child and only daughter of Bert and Minnie (Korthals) Bonestroo. Albertha had nine older brothers. She attended Sioux County Elementary school and later graduated from Hull High School.

Albertha was united in marriage to Herman Rozeboom on May 28, 1953 at Hull, Iowa. Herm served in the Army from 1955-1957. The family moved to Sioux Falls where Herm eventually started his own business, Herm’s Heating and Air Conditioning. Through the years, Albertha faithfully supported her family as a dedicated homemaker, mother, and wife. Albertha was known as a wonderful cook and baker. In addition, she supported Herm’s business as a book keeper and office assistant. Albertha later used her gifts of detail and organization to operate her own cleaning business for several families in the Sioux Falls area.

One fun fact about Albertha is that she always had her favorite beverage, Diet Coke, on hand to share with visitors. Albertha  loved the games of Softball and Baseball. She faithfully followed her husband, children and grandchildren to many, many sporting events.  She was also a big fan of the Minnesota Twins and closely followed Joe Mauer when he played for the team.

Albertha had a love for Jesus and loved to attend church and church activities. Albertha would organize music and speakers for a seniors group at church called Prime Time. Albertha was a member at Faith Baptist Fellowship.

Albertha passed away on October 12, 2023 at the Avantara Lake Norden Care Center where she received excellent care by a very loving staff.

Albertha is survived by her children, Randy (Jeri) Rozeboom and Lisa Leonard (Ken Baker); grandchildren, Chris Rozeboom, Ryan Rozeboom, Kyle (Heidi) Rozeboom, Tanya (Bill) Schurak and Jacob (Katie) Espland; nine great grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty Bonestroo and Henrietta Bonestroo and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her son Wesley; and all of her brothers, Egbert, Henry, Ben, Fred, Gerald, Edward, Alvin, Len and Tom.
