Colleen Daws

Colleen Adell Daws, born on September 15, 1949, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Paul and Elizabeth (Hall) Paulson, dedicated most of her adult years to the healthcare industry. Early in her career, she worked as a candy striper at Sioux Valley Hospital (now Sanford) in Sioux Falls and later served in an administrative role for two decades at Avera McKennan Hospital, also in Sioux Falls. She eventually relocated to Florida, and on December 15, 2006, married Herbert “Herb” Daws.

Outside of work, Colleen enjoyed crafting, camping, photography, and listening to her favorite music artists, all while cherishing moments with her family. She particularly loved camping at her favorite beach locations in Northern Florida, finding solace and joy in the coastal scenery.

Colleen passed away on July 14, 2024. She is survived by her husband, Herb Daws of Monticello, FL; her daughter Lisa Brower of Sioux Falls, SD; sons Chad (Lynn) Brower of Harrisburg, SD, and Jeremy Underberg of Larchwood, IA; grandsons Calvin and Isaac Brower of Harrisburg, SD; granddaughter Madeline Kafka of Sioux Falls, SD; step-children, Robert “Bob” (Lisa) Daws, William “Bill” (Kelly) Daws, and Kathy Daws (Phillip) Johnson; step-grandchildren Josh, Brooke, Jayce, Billy, Dylan, Chase, Brynden, and Tess; sister Freda (Dave) Adams of Eugene, OR; and numerous nieces, nephews, and step-great-grandchildren.

Colleen was preceded in death by her siblings Tom Paulson and Dianne Sauer.
