Connie Mielenz

Connie was born on December 31, 1932 at Yankton, South Dakota, the daughter of Gus and Ella (Zinck) Economy. She graduated from Yankton High School.

She married Eugene Mielenz on April 19, 1953 in Yankton. Connie and Gene lived in Seattle, Washington for a few years while Gene was serving in the Army. They returned to South Dakota and lived in Huron, Aberdeen, and Sioux Falls. Connie worked at Younker for two years and then was the office manager at Marx Truck and Trailer Sales for twelve years.

Connie enjoyed crafts, crossword puzzles, collecting Santas and reading mystery novels.

She is survived by her husband, Gene; four siblings, Ruth Schanche of Washington, Daniel Economy of New Richland, MN, Deborah Sharp of Independence, MO, and Jon Economy of Yankton, SD; and a son-in-law, Steve Pederson. Connie is preceded death by her parents; a daughter, Terri Pederson in 2017; and a sister, Marilou Davis.
