Conrad Dice

September 9, 1929 — January 1, 2025

Sioux Falls

Conrad L. Dice (Con) passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2025 at his residence. He was born September 9, 1929 in Freeman, SD and spent most of his growing up years on a farm near Parker, SD, graduating from Parker High School.

After graduating from high school and working on his family’s farm, Con joined the SD Air National Guard as a jet mechanic and retired from the SD Air National Guard after 40 years of service as a Chief Master Sergeant, and supervisor of the 114th TAC Fighter Wing.

He met Helen Stenslokken while she was teaching at Parker Elementary School. They were married at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church on June 28, 1960 and made their home in Sioux Falls, SD.

Con was an avid Augustana football, basketball, and volleyball fan, attending most every home contest with his wife Helen, daughter Tami, and their special friends Jon and Dorothy Voight. The Minnesota Vikings were his favorite football team and though frustrating to watch at times, he faithfully cheered them on. He bowled for many years and served as league president. After retirement, he bowled in a mixed league with his wife, Helen, and worked part time at Target. He loved to have the best lawn on the block and worked tirelessly to accomplish that goal. At work and at home, all things were done with great precision.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Helen Dice of Sioux Falls and daughter, Tami Ulin also of Sioux Falls, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Con, known by his family as “Jr.”, was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad Sr. and Mabelle Dice, son-in-law Tom Ulin, mother and father in-law Halvor and Cora Stenslokken, brother Larry, sister-in-law Mary Dice, sister Pat, sister-in-law Audrey Printz, and brother-in-law Ward Stenslokken.

A memorial service for Con will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD at a later date.
