Dale Drew

Dale K. Drew, 77, of Sioux Falls, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Veterans Hospital (VA Medical Center) in Sioux Falls, SD. His Memorial Service will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service. Internment is scheduled for 11:00am on February 26 at the SD State Veteran Cemetery. 

Dale was born on May 20, 1946 in Sully County, SD, the son of Clifford and Jennie (Shawgo) Drew. He grew up in Gettysburg, before moving with his family to Madison. Dale served in the Air Force as a B52 airplane electrician during the VietNam war. He spent his career as a service manager in the petroleum industry.  He was united in marriage to Lucinda “Cindy” Drew on October 17, 1977.  He was proud of his AA sobriety and attended meetings at “the club.” Dad enjoyed camping, fishing, going to concerts at McKennan Park, and cheering on his grandkids at sports games and school concerts. 

Dale is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lucinda “Cindy” of Sioux Falls; his son Dale Drew (Tina), daughter Melissa Toft (Parry) of Sioux Falls,  and son Michael Drew (Jessica) of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Ryan and Grace Drew, Alexander Toft, Dorian Drew, and Maxwell Toft; his sister, Judy Stratman of Valley Springs; sister-in-laws Carolyn Drew of Dell Rapids and Harlene Drew of Colton; his brothers-in-law Tim Oesterling (Cora), Russ Oesterling (Eileen), and Deny Oesterling (Rena); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Katrina Marie in 1984, his brothers, Douglas, Daniel, Dennis, and infant Thomas; his brother-in-law Ed Oesterling, brother-in-law Ray Stratman, and sister-in-law Phyllis Drew.
