Daphne Jean Baptiste Duvelsaint was born on November 9, 1969 in St. Marc, Haiti to parents Imaccula Dussé and Louis Jean Baptiste. She grew up and spent the majority of her life in Haiti. She met the love of her life Wilfrid Duvelsaint in her young adult years and they married on April 15, 1989. Daphne and her husband Wilfrid had 4 children together; Job Duvelsaint (eldest son), Daphnide Day (eldest daughter), Wildana Duvelsaint (third born) and Daph-Wilette Duvelsaint (youngest child). They also welcomed Fritzner Antoine as their own and treated him like a son. Daphne was very passionate about childhood development and completed a 4 year college degree to become a primary school teacher for preschool up to 3rd grade. Daphne and Wilfrid raised their 4 children and Fritz together and were married for 28 years before Wilfrid passed away on November 30, 2017 and Daphne became a widow. In the span of her life, Daphne was able to impact many children and adults in her community through not only her involvement as a teacher but by also her involvement in her church. Daphne was very passionate about her love for The Lord and wanted to share that passion with others. In her final moments, she praised The Lord and thanked him for everything that he had done for her. She had unwavering faith and was proud to be a child of God. Although Daphne spent most of her life in Haiti, she always dreamed of coming to the United States to meet the rest of her grandchildren. She was able to do just that before The Lord called her home. On October 10, 2023 Daphne passed away at the age of 53 years old from kidney failure and has now joined her parents Louis and Immacula along with her husband Wilfrid in eternal rest. She knew and felt the love of her family before her final days and that gave her comfort.
Daphne is survived by her son Job (Naika) Duvelsaint (33), her daughter Daphnide (Scott) Day (32), her daughter Wildana Duvelsaint (24) and her daughter Daph-Wilette Duvelsaint (18). She is also survived by her grandchildren Zoey Day (15), Princeton Day (4), Dayana Duvelsaint (2) and Ash Duvelsaint (2 months). Daphne lived a meaningful life with purpose and we will continue to carry on her legacy and she will live on in our hearts and memories.
