Darlene Bolger passed away on September 1, 2019 at her home in Sioux Falls. Darlene was born on July 21, 1934 in Sioux Falls, the daughter of Kenneth and Florence (Skillingstad) Pinard.
She graduated from Washington High School in 1952. Darlene married Brian Bolger in 1956 and they raised four children. Darlene worked at the Stockyard Café as a hostess for a few years. She then worked at Brown Drug in the order fulfillment department. She also worked at the airport in the restaurant and gift shop for several years. She retired in 2012.
Darlene loved spending time with children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Notre Dame football, PGA golf and especially Tiger Woods and Jason Day, western tv movies, and working on crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Allison) Bolger, Barb (Rich) Mayer, Steve (Sheila) Bolger and Ryan (Kristen) Bolger, all of Sioux Falls; 10 grandchildren, Robert, Joseph, Mikhail, McKenna, Brenna, Brooke, Emma, Erin, Nate and Jenna; and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Don Pinard.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Avera Home Hospice for their loving care and support.
As Darlene requested, no formal services will be held. The family invites friends to gather at the Cherry Creek Banquet Room on Sept. 15 from 1-4 pm.
