David Tieszen

David Paul Tieszen was born on September 22, 1957 in Sioux Falls, SD to Charles and Donna (Smith) Tieszen. He grew up in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area and graduated from Lennox High School.

David married Karen Myers in 1976 and from that marriage came his 2 daughters Leann and Mandy, stepson Kelly Murphy.

He married Georgea Ahrenholtz in October of 1998.  David and Georgea lived in Sioux Falls, SD.  where David worked as a mechanic, John Morrell's and retired from Hy-Vee in the produce and meat department.

David enjoyed fishing, camping, racing cars, Dallas Cowboys, grilling and listening to country western music. David and Georgea also enjoyed dancing weekly at the VFW for several years.

David passed away on January 17, 2024 at Avera Hospital due to complications of ongoing illnesses.

David is survived by his wife, Georgea, 2 daughters Leann (Michael) Koele and Mandy Fox. 4 step-children, Kelly Murphy, Todd Dam, Troy (Heather) Dam and April (Mike) Lalley and 11 grandchildren Jessica, Alyssa, Alex, Jayden, Jessica, Ricky, Jackie, Shelby, Tristen. 3 sisters Julie (Alan) Braaten, Cathy (Bruce) Mastalir and Sara (Jesse) Paschal and numerous nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his mother (Donna), father (Charles), brother (Michael), stepson (Tracy).
