Doris Knittel

Doris was born on July 2, 1944 in Eureka, SD, the daughter of Christian and Martha (Mehlhaff) Moser. She graduated from Eureka High School.

Doris met William Knittel, Jr. at Roscoe, South Dakota and they were married on December 12, 1964 in Aberdeen. They move to Sioux Falls in 1972 where Doris worked at Raven Industries for 30 years and worked at Dakota Digital for 16 years. She and Bill also managed the Cleveland Heights Apartments for several years.

Doris enjoyed fishing, camping, trips to the casino and watching her favorite shows, the Young & the Restless and Family Feud.  She and Bill were part of the Honda Goldwing Club and rode often. She was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. 

She passed away on July 12, 2024 at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls. Doris will be remembered as a happy person with a million dollar smile.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Bryan) Trapp, Sioux Falls; a grandson, Cody, and a great granddaughter, Taylor; two sisters, Betty Graff of Ashley, ND and Arlene Kurle of Eureka, SD; several nieces and nephews; and two nieces, Sherri Janzen and Chastity. Madsen, that she had a special relationship.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; seven siblings, Donnie, John, James, Robert, Marvin, Viola and Marilyn.
