Duane Lammert

Duane Lammert passed away on September 5, 2024, at the age of 82 surrounded by his family at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls, SD.

 Duane was born April 11, 1942, in Luverne, MN to Clarence and Viola Lammert. He attended grade school, junior High and High School in Luverne, MN, graduating 1960. After high school, Duane moved to Sioux Falls, SD and worked for Elliott & Anderson floor covering until he retired in 2002 after 42 years. 

 Duane was united in marriage to Nikky Wendt on January 11, 1964. Duane and Nikky welcomed their daughter Jane on November 9, 1966, and their son Mark on September 19, 1970. In January of 1966, Duane enlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard and served as a Machine Gunner until he was honorably discharged in September 1970. On May 2, 1980, Duane was united in marriage to Peg Driscoll with this marriage he gained his stepson, Mike Driscoll.

 During his life, Duane liked to shoot trap, golf and bowl, and play card games. During the early part of the 1990’s, Duane was a floor covering instructor at Southeast Technical Institute. Duane was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. Duane especially loved traveling with his wife Peg, taking numerous bus tours and even spending the summer driving around the United States. Duane was a kind, positive, and extremely caring person and had many friends that he enjoyed spending time with, but his greatest love of all was spending time with his family.

 Duane is survived by his sister, Marilyn Galvin, Sioux Falls; his daughter Jane (Tom), Fort Wayne, IN; his son Mark (Juedi), Minnetonka, MN; His stepson Mike (Jackie), Sioux Falls, SD. He is survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Duane was proceeded in death by his wife Peg Lammert, his parents Clarence and Viola Lammert, and his brothers Marvin and David Lammert.

 Per his wishes there will be no memorial service. He will be interned at Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne, MN with family present.
