Frances Merrill

Frances was born on August 31, 1925 in Lake Preston, SD, the daughter of Frank and Edith (Bandy) Kunert.

In 1946, she married Lyle S. Merrill in Sioux Falls and they had three children, Sharon, Norman and Nancy and two foster children, Ken and Phyllis Hemenway. Frances was a housewife and mother who loved her home and her flowers.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon and Gary Knutson and Nancy Merrill; two grandchildren, Aaron Knutson and Sara Anderson; one great granddaughter, Shay Nackerud-Knutson; a sister, Alice Johnson; Ken and Phyllis Hemenway; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; son, Norman; and two sisters, Helen Reppe and Ruth Westburg.

Her family is grateful to the Good Samaritan Society in Canton for providing loving care in her final years.

No services are planned at this time and a private interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sioux Falls.
