Geraldine Bixler

Geraldine Rae Brown was born on June 6, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa to Zean and Nora (O’Donnell) Brown. On August 16, 1958, she married John Bixler. Together they had four children.

Geri was a member of St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Sioux Falls. She spent a good portion of her life volunteering at Sanford and St. Vincent De Paul. She was an avid reader and worked with adults teaching them to read. She worked as a secretary at Equifax, South Dakota Board of Nursing and Portamedic.

Geri enjoyed rug hooking and cross stitching. Her work was beautiful. One of her favorite things to do was to go to garage sales. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved each and every one of them dearly.

Grateful for sharing her life are children: Neal (Joan), John (Michele), David (Nona), and Sarah (Clint). Grandchildren: Christopher (Becca), Zean (Mattia), Noah (Jessica), Sara, Amanda, and Megan (Britny).

Geri was preceded in death by husband, John, her parents, and sisters, Donna and Sandy.
