Heath Richard Lee Mays was born Dec. 26th, 1985 in Sioux Falls, S.D. to Kenneth and Dorothy (Yesda) Mays Sr.
He was the Easter Seals poster child in 1988 to 1989. At the tender age of 4 he was made an honorary member of the South Dakota National Guard by Governor Mickelson.
He loved participating in Special Olympics. I don’t recall a sport he didn’t love including cheerleading. He went on to compete in National Special Olympics in 2010.
Heath loved his job at Hot Shot Fireworks and there wasn’t a firework he couldn’t tell you about.
Among all the things he loved was spoiling children of all ages, having his picture taken, singing, and animals. Running the video camera at church was very important to him and he made sure no one took that from him.
Grateful for having shared his life is his mom, Dorothy, dad, Kenneth Sr.; 3 sisters, Michelle Boadwine of Sioux Falls, Dorothy and Matt Tiesler of Beaver Creek MN, Jody Weddell of Sioux Falls; 2 brothers, Kenneth and Kelli Jr. of Viborg, SD and Dave and Erica Mays from Sioux Falls; many loved and spoiled nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family would like to invite friends and relatives to gather for fellowship at the Renner American Legion Hall following the committal service at the cemetery.
