Irma Jean Jackson was born March 25, 1943 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Dan Taylor, Jr., and Mary Rainey Taylor. Irma attended school in Louisiana. The family moved to Kansas City, Missouri when she was 20 years old.
She worked for Premiere Printing Company for 25 years and then moved from Sioux City, Iowa to Sioux Falls when her company transferred her to position at a new company where she worked for another five years.
Irma enjoyed the TV show young and restless and Rugrats was a cartoon show and going to church and just hanging out with family and her best friend. Sister Breeze was like a sister to her. Irma also liked being with her niece, Ulonda Schoolmeester, going out to eat, shopping and drinking coffee all the time. Irma was baptisted in the name of Jesus Christ at Restoration church in Sioux Falls. She was a god fearing woman of faith that took comfort and praising and worship the Lord and truly love her family no matter what she was 80 years old when she passed away on January 22, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
She is survived by her children, Cordell Jackson, Glenn Jackson and Cal Keshia McClendon; and a daughter-in-law, Tanya Jackson; siblings, Don Lee Taylor, Alfred Taylor, Susie Taylor, Ernestine Mcclendon and Gloria Bonwell; grandchildren and a great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Irma will be welcomed in heaven by her parents, Dan and Mary Taylor; brothers, Billy Taylor and Jimmy Taylor; and a son, Elbert James Jackson; and aunts and uncles.
