Jay Marshall

Jay was born on October 18, 1952 to Lyle Edward Marshall and Eldora Teresa Marshall in Brookings, SD. After graduating from Lincoln High school in 1970, Jay joined the US Marine Corps. While Jay was serving in the marines, he was the base radio disc jockey.    

After service to his country, Jay started his career at Egger Steel, where he retired at age 55.  

In 1976, Jay met Colleen Aga, and they wed in 1978, going on to have two children, Cody and Tyler.   

After retirement, Jay spent time enjoying crossword puzzles (especially the challenging Sunday NY Times), watching Jeopardy!, listening to ‘Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me’, and played cards (cribbage and pinochle) regularly and passionately. Jay enjoyed pheasant-hunting with his dogs in his younger years.

Jay was predeceased by his parents.  Jay is survived by his sons Cody and Tyler, ex-wife Colleen, three sisters: older sister ReneSasser (Larry), twin sister Jean Phillips (Mike), and youngest sister, Diane Floyd (Gerald) , and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
