Jeanette Newsone

Jeanettte was born on April 28, 1948 in Jackson, Mississippi to Billy and Alberta (Robinson) McCarty. She grew in Jackson and graduated from James Hill High School.

Jeanette married Frank Newsone in 1969 and they had five children. They lived in Jackson for several years then moved the family to Rock Island, Illinois in 1977. Jeanette worked at a munitions plant. The family moved to Detroit, Michigan for a short time and then moved back to Jackson, Mississippi.

Jeanette worked as a dietary aide at the Cottage Grove Nursing Home from 1993 to 2016. She enjoyed puzzles, crossword, search-a-word and watching western tv shows.

Jeanette was 75 years old when she passed away on April 21, 2024 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.

She is survived by her children, Debbie McCarty, Timothy (Tequilla) Newsone, Reggie McCarty, Derek (Turkessa) Newsone and Ebony (Lonnie) Newsone; 30 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; five brothers, Jerome, Jerry, Joseph, Moses and Robert; and four sisters, Patricia, Viola, Alberta and Elizabeth. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank in 1985, and two siblings, Billie Jean and Hollis.
