Kristi Hudson departed her earthly world on March 8 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House with her family at her side. She was 60 years old. She was strong, stubborn, and she fought a long hard battle with vascular issues affecting blood flow to her legs, along with other health issues. May she rest eternally in peace.
Kristi Kay Seeman was born on May 8, 1963 in Huron, SD to Richard and Glenda Seeman. Her siblings include Richelle, Erin, Mike, Rich and Beth.
Kristi welcomed four children: Joshua (RIP), Jessica, Stephanie, and Danielle.
She met and married the love of her life, Robert Hudson, in 1993. In February of this year, they celebrated their 31st Anniversary. They built their life in Baltic, SD around their two mutual passions: fishing and camping. Kristi enjoyed taking care of her husband and their home and dogs (currently Bo and Clyde). She would make Bob new foods to try like chocolate covered bacon and chips. Good memories from her daughters include Kristi making any house very clean and homey. She always loved decorating for holidays and making holidays memorable with special attention to Valentine's Day, Easter, and Halloween. A particular favorite holiday memory was when Kristi assembled a huge celebration for the whole community in Faribault, MN one year for Easter including live entertainment, impressive prizes, an egg hunt, and an enormous cake to feed hundreds. Bringing joy and laughter to children was important to her and has helped many families and mothers throughout the years.
Her world got a lot brighter with each additional grandchild: Madeleine, Ellie, Kasher, Kohen, Karson, Lilly, Addie, and Kolton. She enjoyed spending time with and for her grandchildren. Other things she enjoyed include carnivals, circuses, Mardi Gras, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell, Kid Rock, Hampton Inn beds, Donald Trump, hot tubs, and candy (Junior Mints and Hot Tamales).
Kristi was a Christian. She may have stumbled or fallen off the path, but she always believed in Jesus. She was baptized at New Life Assembly of God Church in Inwood. She was like a box of chocolates and you never knew what you were gonna get or what side of her you’d get that day. Many may have seen her more animated side as she was extremely blunt, had a way with words, and has been known to cause drama or hurt feelings. May you grant her forgiveness and peace, and in turn receive peace for yourself.
Survived by her husband of 31 years, Robert Hudson of Baltic, SD. Her daughter, Jessica (Matt) Pauling and their two children, Madeleine and Kasher of Pella, IA. Daughter Stephanie (Jeremy) Schulz and their children, Ellie, Lilly, Addie, and Kolton of Sioux Falls, SD. Daughter, Danielle (Kent) Koedam and their children, Kohen and Karson of Alvord, IA. She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua. Her parents, Richard and Glenda Seeman. Her dogs, Chubbs and Gus.
