Marie Anderson (Swier)—known lovingly by everyone as Binky —was born on December 19, 1994, and left this world far too soon on April 11, 2025.
From the moment she could walk, Binky chose to run. She was full of energy, life, laughter, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. She had no fear and no off-switch, and those who knew her wouldn’t have wanted her any other way.
Binky was a free spirit when it came to work—she held countless jobs over the years and brought her bold energy to every single one. She worked hard, learned fast, and made friends wherever she went. But let’s be honest—Binky wasn’t meant to be tied down to any one job for long. She needed motion, excitement, chaos… and maybe a few breaks in between. One of her proudest (and funniest) work-related accomplishments was becoming forklift certified—a badge of honor she loved to brag about, always with a smirk and a laugh. It was classic Binky: unconventional, unexpected, and unforgettable.
She shared an unbreakable bond with her dad—her rock, her constant, her safe place. Their love and connection was something sacred and rare. She also adored her grandma, who recently passed, and the two are surely laughing together again now, side by side.
Binky was a loving and protective big sister to her younger brother, Jakob. The bond they shared was filled with laughter, mischief, and unforgettable adventures. One of Jakob and their dad’s favorite memories was celebrating the Fourth of July with Binky—her absolute favorite holiday—by lighting fireworks off an old, rickety bridge that was probably more danger than structure. It was sketchy, a little wild, and totally Binky. Her joy for that holiday and the time spent together with her brother, dad and mom made it a tradition they’ll always cherish.
Binky’s bond with her cousins was something she deeply cherished. She treasured every moment—sleepovers at Grandma’s, wild adventures, late-night laughs, and all the love packed into those memories. She had a quiet way of believing in forgiveness and living it, never needing to say it out loud—just showing up with her whole heart. No matter where life took her, she always found a way to check in, to remind us we were never far from her thoughts. For those lucky enough to be close to her, she wasn’t just family—she was a part of our soul. We were inseparable. And loving her was one of the easiest things in the world.
Binky had a fierce love for music—it was her therapy. Her favorite thing to do was fill up the gas tank, roll the windows down, and drive with the volume all the way up. She loved scary movies (the cheesier the better), collecting nail polish in every shade imaginable, writing, journaling, giving gifts, and making people laugh. To know her was to love her, and the world was just simply a better place with her in it.
She loved cats. Loved to laugh. Loved to love. She was a wild child with a big heart and a spirit too free for this world.
She was strong and vulnerable, beautiful and kind, driven and brave. She faced unimaginable loss when her first son, Layne, passed away—grief that changed her forever. But even in her struggles, she fought to keep going. She shared love through letters, reached out when others disappeared, and always made space for people to be exactly who they were with her.
Her son James was her light. Her love for him ran deep and true, even when life got hard. Binky found deep love and partnership in her husband, Adam Anderson. Theirs was a connection that sparked quickly but ran deep—two souls that recognized each other right away. They met through family, and from that first moment, something just clicked. Through highs and lows, laughter and heartbreak, they held on to each other with fierce loyalty and love.
Though her time here was far too short, we know she’ll never truly leave us. She’ll be there in every song that plays too loud, every wild curve on a road, every silly moment with her son James. She’ll be watching over him, always—making sure her boys are taken care of, and that her love continues to surround them in ways they’ll feel forever.
Binky was not perfect—but she was real. And she was loved more than words can ever express.
We’ll remember her not just for how she left us—but for how she lived. Loud, fast, funny, messy, beautiful. Wild and free. Just like she always was.
She is survived by her husband, Adam Anderson and their son, James Anderson; step son, Jaxson Anderson; her father, James Swier and mother, Deb Swier; brother, Jakob Swier, brothers, Devon and Arien and sisters, Maile and Lehua; grandmother, Penny Sievert; mother in law, Deb Anderson and father in law, Andrew Anderson; special cousin, Stephanie Swier; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss her deeply.
Running first to her arms in heaven is her beautiful baby boy, Layne Swier, followed by her grandma, Beverly Knutson, and grandpa, Alvin Knutson; uncle, Randy Hoffman, and aunts JuJu and Kim; and her beloved kitty, Fitz.
