Nicole Shanks

Nicole Renee Shanks, age 22, passed away on December 7th, 2024. Nicole was born on November 8th, 2002, in Sioux Falls SD, to Amy (Gunderson) Bender.

 Nicole came into this world to challenge us, to show us what unconditional love is. From a very young age Nicole taught us that sometimes, you just have to laugh. Nicole had a very infectious laugh. When she would start giggling, you could not help but to giggle with her. That giggle could make anyone smile.

Nicole is loved by so many people. Her extended family at Lifescape is no exception. For the past twelve years they have given her such great care and love.

Grateful for having shared her life are her mom, Amy (Michael Naber) Bender; brother, Dylan Kaschmitter; aunts, Stacey (Dane) Sundstrom, Tania (Tom Skoglund) Ross; uncle, Adam Berreth; great-aunts, Penny Nance and JoAnn Pearcy; many cousins and extended Lifescape family. She was preceded in death by her grandma, Pamela Erickson.

A memorial service will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on December 15th at 6:30 pm.
