Nigussie was born on August 21, 1959 in Addis Ababa Ethiopia to Fayso Ergo and Teso Bulti.
At the age of 21, he decided to explore the world. He traveled to many countries including the U.S.S.R. and Germany. Nigussie decided to make Sioux Falls his permanent home and became a citizen of the United States in April of 2009.
Nigussie valued hard work. At the time of his death, he was employed at Sanford Hospital in the housekeeping department.
Nigussie was never one to stay home. He was a social butterfly from a young age, and as a young man, spent many evenings socializing in the coffee houses. He enjoyed visiting with friends at Clubhouse and had many friends in the Ethiopian Community. Nigussie had dreams of traveling again one day, especially desiring to visit Ethiopia.
He was a kind man who always made sure to tell people he appreciated them. He will be missed by many.
