Paul James Wickham, 64, passed away on January 31, 2025, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Born on August 7, 1960, in Stockton, California.
Paul lived a life defined by resilience, dedication, and an unwavering love.
Paul proudly served his country as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division in the United States Army. After his military service, Paul remained a man of discipline and ambition, always seeking new challenges.
At the age of 42, he embarked on a new journey, returning to school to earn three Associate degrees in Computer Information Systems/ Network Administrator, Computer Information Systems/ System Administrator, Computer Network Technician. His passion for technology led him to a successful career where he thrived and continued to inspire others with his work ethic and determination.
On October 20, 2007, Paul married the love of his life, Dixie Jeschke, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family. Paul and Dixie were blessed by five wonderful children—Paul Joseph (30), James (16), Rose (15), Dixie Jasmine (13), Patience Wickham (12) and three grandchildren Leland Dolsen (8) Ryder Wickham (7) and Arabella Herding (5). His devotion to his family was unmatched, and he took immense pride in being a husband, father and grandfather and friend to so many.
Paul was a man of many passions. He was an avid motorcycle rider and enthusiast, finding joy and freedom on the open road. He loved gardening, cooking, and spending time with his children, always sharing his knowledge and love in every moment. His Dobermans were his loyal companions, always by his side, bringing him comfort and joy.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Gale Weaver and Harold Wickham. He is survived by his loving wife, Dixie, his five children Paul Jr. (Lexi), James, Rose, Dixie Jasmine, Patience, three grandchildren Leland, Ryder, Arabella, his bonus mom, Annie Wickham, his sisters Robin, Tracy (Lyle), Patricia, and Sunny (Shannon), and his brother Ken (Jessica) Ballard.
Paul lived his life with courage, integrity, and a deep love for those closest to him. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and perseverance. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
