Romaine Larsgaard

April 1, 1943 — September 14, 2022

Romaine was born April 1, 1943 at Canton, South Dakota, the son of Roy and Hazel (Sorum) Larsgaard. He grew up at Canton and graduated from Canton High School.

Romaine worked as brick layer for many years until an accident left him unable to continue work in his profession. He then took a job at the casino and enjoyed working there for a number of years.

Romaine loved Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and collecting all things Nascar-related. His other love was golf! If you didn't find him working at the casino or playing golf, he was probably at Austad's. He loved to call me and tell me about his recent golf club purchase and giggling about it the whole time.

We loved him for his generosity, facial expressions, direct attitude and dry sense of humor.

Thankful for having shared his life include his daughter, Lori (Shane) Anema, his son, Jared Larsgaard, and his ex-wife, Connie Larsgaard; five grandchildren, Mataya, Kevin, Hannah, Adam and Christian; his sisters, Lorene (Charles) Fossum and Denise (Don) Koopsma; his brothers, Steve Larsgaard, and Chuck (Brenda) Larsgaard; along with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Hazel Larsgaard as well as his brother, Kenny Larsgaard, and his sister, Judy Tobin.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to: SF Public School lunch program and to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital and Cancer Research.
