Sara Ann Jorgensen

Sara Ann Jorgensen, age 50, departed this earthly world on March 23, 2024 at 3:39 am, succumbing to liver failure. She was determined as she fought liver cirrhosis for several years. May she rest in peace!

Sara was born on October 3, 1973 to Leslie J. Buck and Esther (Heupel) Buck in Bismarck, ND. She grew up in Bismarck and was proud of her Germans from Russia heritage. Sara graduated from Bismarck High School in 1992.

Sara moved to Sioux Falls around 1994 and worked as a housekeeper at Avera McKennan Hospital. She met Daniel John Jorgensen at Avera and they were married on May 27, 1995. Over the next few years, they were blessed with two lovely daughters, Angelia and Faith. She resided in Dell Rapids with her family until they divorced in 2000. Sara lived in Canton for a number of years while her girls grew up and graduated from high school. Sara spent three years in La Vista, NE and moved back to Sioux Falls in the beginning of 2023. She was employed at Sanford Hospital for the last few months of her life.

Sara loved her family and enjoyed the smell of fresh cut grass and lilac flowers. Her favorite color was purple. Sara enjoyed watching her favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs, along with NASCAR from time to time. Sara had a love for cooking and enjoying watching Rachel Ray. A couple years ago, she bought her dream truck, a red Chevy. Sara bought it because her dad’s favorite color was red and he had a truck she always asked to drive.

Sara is survived by her daughters, Angelia Jorgensen of Sioux Falls and Faith (Alex) Yanez of Dakota Dunes, SD; a grandson, Charles Devney of Farmington, MN; her mother, Esther Buck of Bismarck, ND; and a brother, Rick Buck of Sioux Falls. She is preceded in death by her father, Leslie J. Buck in 2011 and a brother, Scott Buck in 2024
