About Us

Doug was born and raised near Estherville, Iowa. He graduated from Terril High School, Terril, Iowa. While in high school, Doug began working for Henry & Olson Funeral Home in Estherville which lead to his interest in the funeral business. Doug attended Iowa Lakes Community College to complete pre-mortuary science requirements. He completed his education at the Worsham College of Mortuary Science near Chicago, IL and graduated in 1987.

Doug worked as a funeral director in Minnesota prior to becoming the owner of Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Sioux Falls in 1999.

Doug is married to Deb Houseman and they have twins, Jacob and Jordyn. They are active members of St. Therese Catholic Church, Sioux Falls.
